Incredible Tips on Practice Iron Sand Palm

Single Palm Practice

First start from the easiest,the combination of palm techniques is crucial. A coherent attack helps to disrupt the opponent’s stance, creating psychological pressure, concealing one’s attack intentions, and overwhelming the opponent to the point of breathlessness.

This training session involves combining the six palm attack techniques learned previously for balanced training on both sides. The goal is to master the six palm strike techniques more smoothly and fluently. Start with slow combination training to understand the connection and the principles of exerting force. As proficiency increases, add strength and speed. Once the patterns are mastered, any palm technique can be combined with another, forming a complete attack combination.

  1. First Set of Exercises:
    • Combat stance;
    • Left spear hand thrust forward;
    • Right hand chop downwards;
    • Left palm strike upwards;
    • Right hand inside chop;
    • Left throwing palm attack;
    • Right tiger mouth attack;
    • Left hand side chop.
    Repeat the cycle for practice.
  2. Second Set of Exercises:
    • Right spear hand thrust forward;
    • Left hand chop downwards;
    • Right palm strike upwards;
    • Left hand inside chop;
    • Right throwing palm attack;
    • Left tiger mouth attack;
    • Right hand side chop.
  3. Training Time: 45 minutes.

Dual Palm Combination Practice

Despite its immense power, the Iron Sand Palm, capable of defeating an opponent with a single blow, can easily be neutralized by experienced adversaries, often proving futile. Thus, combining various palm techniques is the key to victory.

The so-called Continuous Strike Palm is an organic combination of various palm techniques in real combat, offering an all-encompassing approach of continuous strikes from above, below, left, and right. The blend of feints and actual strikes in practice maximally diverts the opponent’s attention, inducing response errors, exposing defenses and vulnerabilities, and ultimately leading to a heavy blow. The Continuous Strike Palm poses a greater challenge, requiring solid basic skills as a foundation, demanding swift, coordinated movements, coherent and smooth strikes, and accurate targeting. However, practice must progress from easy to difficult, gradually meeting training requirements without rushing, as hastiness leads to unattained goals.

First Set of Exercises:

  • Left spear hand thrust—Right hand chop down
  • Left hand side chop—Right hand inside chop
  • Left palm strike up—Right spear hand thrust
  • Left throwing palm—Right palm strike up
  • Right tiger mouth strike up—Left hand chop down
  • Right throwing palm—Left spear hand attack
  • Right palm strike up—Left hand inside chop

Second Set of Exercises: Reverse the left and right, keeping the palm techniques unchanged for training.

Key Points:

  • Actions must be swift and rhythmic, conserving energy and ensuring balance.
  • Combining palm techniques should follow a natural flow, with one strike setting up the conditions for the next.
  • Training Time: 45 minutes.

Three Palm Combination Practice

The most basic and commonly used combination attacks in real combat are the double strike and triple combination attack. The principle of “one launch, three continuous” is key. Every attack should be executed with full force, always with the readiness and intention to follow up with two more strikes. This approach ensures that if the initial strike disrupts the opponent’s stance, the subsequent attacks can quickly expand the victory, catching the opponent off guard and resulting in a heavy defeat.

First Set of Exercises:

  • Left throwing palm—Right hand chop down—Left spear hand thrust
  • Left hand side chop—Right hand inside chop—Left palm strike up
  • Left palm strike up—Right hand chop down—Left hand inside chop
  • Right tiger mouth strike up—Left spear hand thrust—Right throwing palm
  • Left hand chop down—Right tiger mouth strike up—Right hand inside chop
  • Left throwing palm—Right palm strike up—Left spear hand thrust
  • Right spear hand thrust—Left hand inside chop—Right hand chop down

Second Set of Exercises: Reverse the left and right, keeping the palm techniques unchanged for training.

Key Points:

  • The combination attacks should adhere to the principles of mixing feints and real strikes, smooth flow, and taking advantage of momentum. To ensure efficient use of strength and smooth, continuous actions, pay attention to the rhythm of consecutive strikes.
  • During continuous strike training, aim for coherent, swift, and accurate actions. Initially, slow down to perfect the movements, gradually meeting the training standards over time.
  • Training Time: 45 minutes.
